Update on 2017/2018 JAMB UTME
1. JAMB 2017 Exams begins on 6th May to 20th May, 2017 (Excluding May 12, 2017 because of candidates sitting for WAEC's further Maths)

2. Sales of Jamb 2017 form will end on Wednesday, 19th April 2017. Registration portal closes on Saturday 22nd April 2017.

3. The Jamb 2017 fee is 5,500 naira. This includes Registration fees, Reading text amd all other document(Syllabus and brochure)

4. For Direct Entry candidates, Application will be on sale from Sunday 23rd April 2017.

5. Jamb has not cancelled awaiting result. Anyone is free to apply for the 2017 Jamb with awaiting result. The deal is - your result must be ready during screening to qualify for admission into any school.

How Many Candidates Are Expected To Write This Year 2017 Jamb Utme Examination

- Up to 1.7 million candidates are expected to register for the 2017 UTME

- JAMB has pledged to make sure the examination centres are increased

- Only 1,561,443 candidates sat for the UTME in 2016

According to official figures, about 1.7 million candidates are expected to sit for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Ishaq Oloyede while speaking to journalists at the Information and Communication Technology Retreat on Tuesday, February 14 in Abeokuta, Ogun state revealed some facts.

According to the registrar, the board is planning to increase its Computer Based Testing (CBT) Centres in order to the make examination exercise far better.

Speaking on the number of candidates, he said: “We are expecting 1.7 million candidates to sit for JAMB this year and we want to make sure we satisfy them within a week or thereabout.’'

JAMB: Fake forms selling nationwide – CBT owners

Computer-Based Test Centres Proprietors Association of Nigeria has raised the alarm over the existence of illegal centres selling fake 2017 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Registration Forms in Imo State and other parts of Nigeria.

Chairman of the association, Comrade Chidiebere Egboh, told newsmen in Owerri, Imo State on Monday that the fraudsters were also collecting money to place candidates in, “special centres” to cheat during the examination.

He described the development as dangerous and alerted prospective candidates that JAMB was yet to announce the fees and date for the commencement of registration.
“CPAN has vowed to provide grounds for equal opportunity to all genuine candidates to gain admission into tertiary institutions of their choice.”

Egboh said: “The fraudsters play fast one and extort N15,000 and above from thousands of unsuspecting prospective JAMB candidates.

“The consequences are that the fraudsters will elope with candidates’ money and they will not have genuine centres to write the examination.

“The issue of ‘special centres’ had been clamped down. We must emphasis that there will be nothing like ‘special centre’ any longer.

Also speaking, Chief Larry Osuagwu, a Director of one of the accredited centres, disclosed that the association has set up a committee to monitor the examination and sensitize staff on the format.

He advised prospective candidates to identify genuine accredited centres by going through JAMB website to avoid falling victims to fraudsters.

Osuagwu advised parents and guardians not to purchase any JAMB form for their wards, as the Board has not started the sale of the 2017 JAMB forms.
